Armitage C of E Primary School encourages pupils to travel to school sustainably. Walking and cycling to school are the best ways to look after the environment, get some exercise and reduce congestion around the school gates. Walking directions from Alan Turing Way/Pottery Lane
Duration: 12 minutes
  • From Alan Turing Way/Pottery Lane, turn onto Gorton Road

  • Walk 0.2 miles then turn left onto Vaughan Street

  • Vaughan Street turns slightely right and becomes Bennett Street

  • After 0.3 miles, turn left onto Trowtree Avenue

  • Take a right onto Roston Avenue

  • After a short walk, Armitage Primary School will be on the left

 

Walking directions from the Manchester Climbing Centre
Duration: 3 minutes
  • Head westwards down Bennett Street towards Matthew Street

  • Turn Left onto Trowtree Avenue

  • Take a right onto Roston Avenue

  • After a short walk, Armitage Primary School will be on the left

 

Cycle Information

Armitage C of E Primary School has convenient parking for student and visitor cyclists.

 

Cycling to school:

Alan Turing Way/Pottery Lane has an on road cycling route, as does Hyde Road if you are travelling from the City Centre. Please take care if cycling near a road. The roads immediately surrounding Armitage C of E Primary School are quiet and 20mph zones make the area safer to cycle.

Morning Public Bus Services to:

Bennett Street: 205, 206, 207

Hyde Road: 201, 203, 204

Travelling by Car

Armitage C of E Primary School is conveniently located just off Hyde Road and Pottery Lane in West Gorton. To access Hyde Road from the M60 simply exit the M60 at exit 24 and follow the A57 until it becomes Hyde Road. Take a right turn at Bennett Street and then a right turn again onto Rostron Avenue. Note that Rostron Avenue is a one way street, please keep this in mind when leaving the school grounds.
