Interventions
An intervention is a short term, focused teaching programme with specific intended outcomes aimed at a particular individual or group of children. This is additional to quality first teaching in the classroom.
Children are identified though Pupil Progress meetings by the class teacher and a whole school provision map shows the effectiveness of targeted interventions and these are reviewed half termly by assessment lead (Assistant Head).
We ensure that interventions target specific gaps in pupils understanding of a subject/area of learning.
Pupils who have been identified as needing physical intervention have a Positive Handling Plan in place which gives all staff working with them a detailed plan of how best to support the individual child.
Below is just a flavour of some the interventions delivered across school to all children.
